FAQ
These are the most frequently asked questions about our sails and destinations. If this doesn’t answer all you have drop us an email at sailkekoa@gmail.com or call 340-244-7245
Where are the snorkel stops?
St John snorkel sails include a variety of locations throughout the day each lasting approximately 45/50 minutes. Our destinations can include Christmas Cove, Little and Great St James Islands, three buoys at Waterlemon Cay, Leinster Bay, Henley Cay, Lovango Cay, Mary’s Point, Whistling Cay or Mermaids Chair and each snorkel destination will be decided the day of by the Captain based on conditions.
How many people will be on the boat?
As you can imagine it is difficult to predict what the numbers might be on any given day but on our open or non private sails we average between 12 and 18 guests through out the year. During holiday weeks, spring break etc, we do see higher passenger counts. As providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests is our number one priority, we do self impose a limit so we may provide a memorable day for all on board. 34 is the maximum we would accept reservations for even though our capacity is 49 guests. .
What happens if it rains?
Kekoa has a rain or shine policy however if conditions are deemed hazardous by the captain the sail will be rescheduled or canceled. Please note, it is solely the captains decision to cancel or reschedule any sail due to weather. No refunds will be issued for no shows.
Where can we park?
Parking is definitely one of St Johns great adventures so please allow extra time - a few suggestions/options are..
1. The free public parking lot next to the car ferry dock in Cruz Bay. It is a large gravel lot and it is about a 8-10 minute walk from your meeting point for Kekoa however space at this lot is not guaranteed especially after Hurricane Irma as there are some abandoned vehicles that are taking up space.
2. Paid parking (Slimmans) in Wharfside Village *
3. Paid parking in between the police station and Extra Virgin restaurant *
4. Paid parking behind The Beach Bar in Wharfside Village *
5. Paid parking opposite Woody’s restaurant *
6. Paid parking at the location of the now demolished Lumberyard Complex *
7. Your rental car location - please check with them if they allow/provide this as an option
* Please check prior to your sail the opening times of these paid facilities
